but yea there can be a best rapper its your opinion so if u think there is one then there is and if u don't there is one then there is no best.
but yea I have to say if Jay-Z started spittin likehe used to back in the day I would say he was the best but he don't spit like dat no more but he do got some flow tho but yea I don't kno who to say the best is like I need to hear like some up to date freestyles of some of the good people then I would be able to tell but Cassidy is a beast at freestylin and so is Papoose also Lupe Fiasco but have not heard a freestyle from Jay in a minute or Nas but puttin Common into the mix of best rappers I wouldn't put him in like the top 5 maybe not even top 10 I say Talib kweli got more flow then Common but that is just my opinion

Dawg that's why this hip hop issue will never come to an end. Cuz nicca's like to compare the North to the South.. It's no comparrison.. The South is for REAL. I know a lot of y'all been to concerts and shyt.. The northern rappers Dj might started with some shyt up north but the crowd not vibing. Now let that Dj play some Southern Shyt the crowd goes wild. My folks up here that rep da South we have a different type of swagger. The culture different down here. The thing with the bloods shyt, that lil wayne and the birdman causing all that drama getting the lil kids headz fuked up. I agree to this though (South "Rap"= a section of hip hop dats all about hoes, money, clothes, dances and club music. Ringtone music) You damn right It's all about making that bread! Also we ain't damaging hiphop we helping the shyt.. Northern rappers aint sellin.. Y'all jumpin on our shyt, so that y'all can sell y'all albums..I don't even buy Northen music period cuz the shyt aint worth listen to.. I'll listen to Eightball & MJG fo I listen to some Jay Z shyt..

I know ya'll culture is differnt nigga. But dis is what im sayin ya'll damagin hip hop nigga. And you just contradicted the whole south nigga. YA'LL DOIN IT FOR MONEYYYY Thank you, my point proven. All dese ny vets u see b4 u, yes their shit is boring for you, cuz ya'll got bump music. Shit to dance to. Us north niggaz, we play with minds, like make niggaz think. Influential Hip Hop "real Hip Hop" Which is what da rap legends like KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Common, etc started. They all sayin this. The south is damagin the real meaning of influential hip hop. What ya'll influencing? Rims, hoes on trunks, cadillacs? Tell me not ma nigga? Sure we got some niggaz in da east rite now doin some stupid shit like dipset, n g-unit, but its not compared to ya whole league of niggaz. Cmon man, u have to get what im saying. Da meaning of hip hop has changed into a joke to you south niggaz. Ya'll in it for da cash, record sales, and hoes. I aint hatin on da south iite, there some niggaz down there dat keep it hella real, but most niggaz as i said is damagin da last key on da piano dat hip hop has.
I could go on and on, but I'm gonna keep it short.....
1. Da only reason ni99as from da north ain't sellin right now is because ni99as want the albums so bad that they are bootlegged way before they even come out (this been happenin to me for a few years now)
2. All that southern music is negative not to mention that the lyrical ability is horrible. Every song sounds the same. The south is making hits, but they are not making classics. All the songs are about cars, jewelry, and women shakin their asses and poppin their pu$$y. They might as well be new slaves wit that song and dance sh*t. The slaves used to do songs and dances for the master for attention.
3. That flossin sh*t came from up north.
4. If you got a sister or daughter do u really want her listenin to songs and learnin how to pop her pu$$y?
ok I'm gonna stop. I said I would keep it short but, sh*t happens.
and I don't got nuttin against the south, but the rappers need to step up there game. get lyircal, be creative, stop copyin the next man. and for dude that said he's rather listen to 8bal and MJG than Jay-z...... You do realize Jay-Z is the reason the south is making these kinda songs right? Check his old albums. he just changed his style cuz he realized he had to set a better example for us and man up

like his first 5 albums. you could start with hard knock life, and you'll see where the samples and down south bounces came from. then move on to the next one, and don't forget to listen to "is that yo b*tch", and don't forget about big pimpin (the song that really got UGK on to mainstream) and all those timbaland beats he was usin along with the neptunes beats.

Thank You, somebody finally agrees wit da bullshit da south puttin out. I got nothin against tha south son i be lissenin to TRUE SOUTHERN HIP HOP CATS LIKE Little Brother, Scarface, Andre 3000 son. Dey REAl NIGGAZ. Otha den dat, outha south cats aint touchin dese niggaz in flow, especially Andre. I will say this ova n ova, the south is sellin only beacuse they puttin out what da new generation wants to hear and da only reason dey doin it is just to put money in dey pocket and not for the love of da game. If dey really did love it like da 3 i jus mentioned, dey wudn't be puttin out all dis bullshit. Dey doin it to please themselves with cash and to make the kids like you guys and the producers happy. Why u think da north aint sellin as much as u guyz? Cuz we aint puttin out BULLSHIT except for da dum ass niggaz like dipset and g-unit, and them niggaz like MIMS or sum shit. Lilz knowz what da fuk he talkin about. How da fuk u gon compare MJG and 8BALL sum faget ass niggaz to JIGGAMAN?? U must ov smoked yourself retarded son to whoeva said dat.

Check his old albums. he just changed his style cuz he realized he had to set a better example for us and man up
I already knew what y'all thought, and y'all already know what I think. Niggas just want to make a quick sale, labels aren't trying to build artists anymore. Look at niggas like Nas, Scarface, Jay-Z, they all took the time to develop a solid fanbase that will buy their albums no matter what. Souljah Boy might be close to going Platinum but his next CD is going wood no lie. And what happened to Hurricane Chris I forgot what that nigga song was called put he on the back of my milk carton already. But thats how the industry is run now. Artists want to just milk the game for what it's worth and sell platinum ringtones, and CD sales went down because of course album quality has gone down, you may try to make an argument that"o but there is underground hip-hop people can buy" but how is they gon buy it if they don't know about it solve that riddle. And what Shadow said I am not biased against South music because I listen to Geto Boys, UGK, and Z-Ro those my niggas I used to live in the South niggas is cool down there, mad hos too, but all those other artists are weak. Don't tell me Lil Wayne nice, what he do is real easy as a matter of fact I will show you the link of my homeboy Dee-Nyce doing the "Wayne Experiment" and you be the judge. Since when did the South become 1 person? 8Ball and MJG been doing there thing since 93. Jay Z is 39 years old. And unless you switch it up most Gangsta Rappers find out quick there ain't no old timers day in this rap shit. He's a good guy, I'm sure but he's not Mother fucking Theresa.
quote=DatBoiShadow;86104]Thank You, somebody finally agrees wit da bullshit da south puttin out. U must ov smoked yourself retarded son to whoeva said dat.[/quote]
Again not everyone in the south spits all that wack shit. Go check out K Rhino, or the rest of the Dungeon Family. The reason the south is selling is because music is cyclical. Rap first got popular off of the dance song aspect and its coming back to that now. It's gonna get serious again at some point. 8 Ball and MJG aren't wack. There two great artists and if the man prefers them to Jigga then so be it.
like his first 5 albums. you could start with hard knock life, and you'll see where the samples and down south bounces came from. then move on to the next one, and don't forget to listen to "is that yo b*tch", and don't forget about big pimpin (the song that really got UGK on to mainstream) and all those timbaland beats he was usin along with the neptunes beats.
Hard Knock Life came out in 99. No Limit and Cash Money were both formed in the early 90's and doing the southern bounce sound since 96 at the latest. Jay is a great artist but he's like Hip Hop's Elvis. Everything he does with his music has been done before. He takes a little from the south and a little from the bay, two areas with little exposure at the time he did this, and everyone thought he was doing a brand new sound. Jay Z has a real love for his craft but he's also a business man and he was smart enough to take a little from here and a little from there and make it his own.
I'm not sayin that southern music didn't start in the 90's. the thing is southern music from then, is nothing like it is now. Plus back then they weren't makin any money (some were but not a lot), and do you know why?????? because back then you had to actually be good to be respected as an artist no matter where you were from. andf yeah those Jay-z albums that I named were from like late 90's, but jigga been around since like 1990. just because u didn't know doesn't mean he didn't exist. back in 92-93 jigga was making songs rappin real fast on same krazy sh*t. are you tryna tell me the south didn't try to take that and run with it afterward???? then he slowed it down, now what is the south doin?? The hot boys was makin plenty of music but they didn't blow up till juvenile made that song "ha" and then on the remix do you know who he had on it???? take a wild guess.....
I ain't know Jay-z d*ck rider or nothin, but he definitely sets the trends (I even hated him at one point for ruining the game). what he does everybody seems to try to follow. look at lil wayne. yall seem to love lil wayne but he tries to be like Jay-Z. Jay-z retired and weezy started callin himself the carter, and sayin he don't write no more. Go figure. and he got the same swagger just wit a different voice

No you didn't read what I wrote right. The bounce that you were claiming influenced the south came at least 3 years after it hit big in the south. Him rapping fast in 92-93 doesn't mean anything because lots of people were rapping fast. He wasn't the first to rap fast. I mean the majority of people only knew of him because of his association with B.I.G. to say he influenced anyone before Reasonable Doubt is damn near complete fallacy. Reasonable Doubt didn't come out till 96 and it had the at that time very Biggie-ish remorseful gangster feel to it. Before RD he was definitely not influencing anyone in a widespread movement like you claim. To say him slowing down has anything do with the way the south makes music isn't crazy but its unfounded. Majority of dudes been in the game ain't changed up for him. Maybe some of the newer rappers but not anyone that had their feet in the sand already. I mean the remix of a song is the remix I'm sure he did want Jay but that has nothing really to do with argument. Being Myself came out in 95 and gave rise to the bounce sound not Jay. Jay came out a year later and was sounding way different from that style which he didn't use till almost 3 years after. Also Cash Money and No Limit used to cake hard in those days with no Major Labels Baby and P was making some money.

Master P. was makin money, yeah, but even he has changed his style. Cash money has changed their style too. and Jay-z was around before the years your talkin about. Your just to young to know that. He really started in the late 80's with Jaz-O. I'll post some links so you can check it out later. and even if a couple people had a lil bounce in their beats. It wasn popular until he did it, but I don't know what bounce your talkin about that was popular before. and from reasonable doubt and all Jay-z was killin the samples. now I'm not gonna say he's the only one to use samples, but it was the kinda samples he was usin and the way he was usin em. Just look at like his first 3 albums, and look at everybody's albums after that. samples are still bein killed to this day in the same fashion he started with. and Jay-z never was rappin like Biggie. Where the hell u get that from? He just used a couple of his lines after he died. (sh*t I would do it too if my boy died and I knew him since high school and we was gettin money together). and when he started usin some of Big's lines its wasn't even really till like his 5th or 6th album which is like 3 albums after big was dead. and if you can find some one rappin fast about the things he was rappin about in the 80's and early 90's then I would love to listen to it and see the copyright year. here's a couple of links for you.

All I'm saying is no one gave a damn about or really knew about Jay in the 80's. I've seen the vid they had on MTV Raps! back then. Listen to Reasonable Doubt and then any Biggie album and tell me they don't have the same approach of remorseful gangster looking at the game when they went into their albums. Kool Moe Dee, The Treacherous Three, Jaz (yeah I know), Big Daddy Kane and Smooth Da Hustler. Now they didn't all rap about about what Jay did but thats not we were arguing about it was whether he was influencing the south with a fast flow or not and if he was the first to really flow like that. All of those dudes had more a chance to influence the south with those types of Flow. Scarface had a fast flow when he came out with the Geto Boys. Listen to his cuts on Grip It On That Other Level in 89. He slowed his flow down, yeah, bu that was before Jay slowed his down. And remember Jay's favorite rapper is/was Face. I'm not saying he's the reason Jay slowed it down I'm just saying I can make the same argument you are that he was influenced to slow it down. I personally don't believe Face had anything to do with it.
Kane had that type of flow on All Hail The Kane. Its too late for me to find more examples but I'll find some more when I get a chance.
Listen to Nigga what Nigga Who off of Hard Knock Life and compare the beat to any old Cash money song after 96. That bounce sound came from the South. Now maybe it wasn't worldwide popular but it was popular in the south and parts of the west. I'm not trying to discredit Jay cus he is to a lot of people an idol but all idol's start somewhere.

Papoose would probally murda Cassidy. I think Cass trynna switch his style up, he trynna become more of a rapper. If you listen to his umma tru G freestyle he sounds more of a rapper than when he was straight hard. Papoose keeps it raw till now he pretty much destroys ever beat hes on. He makes you listen to his lyrics and his flow.
Papoose also killed Fat Joe wwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy betta then G-unit. Papoose is probally on the top after that diss, I wanna see Joe come back.
