Dido George – Dec 2016
Our last Wave King of 2016 has had waves for years, but became a serious waver earlier this year. He’s been putting in hard work, brushing at least an hour every day. His effort paid off–in addition to perfect connections and deep waves, he has now won #waveking!
Wavebuilder: How long have you had 360 waves?
Dido George: I’ve had waves since 2002 but I became a waver February of 2016
WB: What is your wavebuilding method?
DG: I wake up , unrag and take about twenty pictures lol!! After that I comb out my hair for about twenty minutes. Then I get my WaveBuilder Ripple Cream, combine it with diva butter and apply it. After that I hard brush for 40 minutes, making sure to use a timer so that I get exactly 40 minutes of brushing time. Then I soft brush for another 20 minutes and rag up for the day. I never sleep without my durag. I feel that is important to maintaining progress.
WB: What kind of brush do you use, and how many times a day do you brush?
DG: I use a royalty hard brush and a Torino soft brush. I brush for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes a day. I always brush in the mirror.
WB: What are your favorite wave products?
DG: My favorite products are my WaveBuilder Ripple Cream and diva argon oil butter. The combination is like a Mike Tyson uppercut and a Rashaad Evans straight right in one lol!! It will lay those hairs down and tame any wolf. I always finish a session with Rimix cocoa butter and honey wave butter for shine and to seal in moisture. I also wash my hair with ogx keratin shampoo. It works great for a wash and style.
WB: Besides building waves, what do you like to do?
DG: Besides waves I am a recording artist. I have had songs played on the radio and have done shows all over California. I am currently planning a tour. And my album should be out in February 2017. You can find my music on iTunes and videos on YouTube. Also you can Friend request me on Facebook (Dido George ).
WB: What do girls love about your waves?
DG: Girls love the way my hair feels when they are rubbing their hands through my hair. The way it look and the way it smells. At least that’s what my girl says lol!!
WB: Any advice to wavers just starting out with their wave game?
DG: The advice I would give someone starting is to learn yo hair. Learn what works for you–brushes and products are not universal. Also brush. Know that the more you brush, the more you progress, and progress is not only what waves are about, but life as well. Stay dedicated and be consistent with your routine.
WB: How does it feel to be Wave King??
DG: It feels so amazing to be Wave King I can’t put it into words. I’ve admired wave kings of the past and when I first hit the wave pages all I wanted was that blue border around my picture. Thank you WaveBuilder for providing this opportunity to wavers. It lets us know that we are progressing and helping to build this community that we all love so much. God bless.
