Lyndrea Overall – Jan 2015

The first Wave King of 2015 is Lyndrea Overall. She beat two others in a 3-way battle and emerged victorious. She’s had waves for just under a year but has developed near perfect connections. Her killer waves earned her this month’s title!

Wavebuilder: How long have you had 360 waves?
Lyndrea Overall: 11 months

WB: What is your wavebuilding method?
LO: First I comb my hair with the grain for about 3 minutes allowing my hair to uncompress, next I brush my hair with the grain with a medium brush, this stimulates my scalp. Then I use a hot towel. I allow the steam to open up my pores making my hair more receptive to the products that I am about to apply. I let the towel sit on my head until it cools off then I brush my damp hair with a medium brush for about 5 minutes then I apply a water based moisturizer. I brush that in with a medium brush until my hair is almost dry then I add an oil based moisturizer. Again I brush my hair this time with a soft brush in order to distribute the oils evenly until it is completely dry, then I put on my tsu/durag.

WB: What are your favorite WaveBuilder products?
LO: Cocoa and shea moisturizer and Wave Puddin’ conditioner.

WB: What kind of brush do you use, and how many times a day do you brush?
LO: I use diane, cqp, wave enforcers, annie and lado brushes. I brush my hair at least 3 times a day…morning, noon, and night.

WB: Besides building waves, what do you like to do?
LO: I love fishing, playing video games, and spending time with family.

WB: What do others love about your waves?
LO: My texture and my pattern.

WB: Any advice to wavers just starting out with their wave game?
LO: Never give up on your wave goals also set sort attainable goals each month, don’t be afraid to ask for help and always give back by helping others in the wave game.

WB: How’s it feel to be one of just a few WAVE QUEENS out there?
LO: It feels incredible to be the 3rd female waver to ever win waveking. To me that is accomplishment I look up to Rachael Boyd and RG3 and now I sit with them on the throne as well as with the other kings.
