JUSTIN "J.WAVY" STOKES OCTOBER 2022 WINNER

Wavebuilder: How long have you had 360 waves?
Justin "J.Wavy" Stokes: I’ve had waves for majority of my life, I remember the original Wavebuilder page on Facebook. But I started waving serious in 2017.

WB: What is your wavebuilding method?
JS: It’s simple, I follow and trust my angles. If I happen to get a fork. I isolate that fork by brushing it a different way to break it and once it’s broken I go back to how I was originally brushing to line it up. Or depending on the location I will just continue brushing regularly to push it out through the hairline. I make sure I brush at least once a day even if my day was super busy. I keep my hair on a wash schedule and I only put products in on certain days to prevent product build up in my scalp.

WB: What kind of brush do you use, and how many times a day do you brush?
JS: I use both curves and flat brushes by Brushking and Diane. & I brush 3 times a day & an hour and a half each session.

WB: What are your favorite wave products?
JS: Wavy Szn Products which is my product line & the Wavebuilder Goat 2 in 1 is one of my favorite shampoo bar. Along with Swave Naturals by Derek Walker & of coarse by Tef Thompson
.

WB: Besides building waves, what do you like to do?
JS: I love playing basketball, working out, playing piano, & reading. & just being in video call with my team The Wave Cartel.

WB: What do girls love about your waves?
JS: The ladies love how I have waves all over my head rather than just on top, that my hair is always shiny and soft, they love to rub it lol, & that my waves are uniform.

WB: How does it feel to be Wave King?
JS: It feels good to get this achievement and add it to my resume because a lot of wavers think they have to be well known to get accolades. When in actuality you just have to believe in yourself and your campaign and remember why you started.

WB: Any advice for new wavers?
JS:
My advice to new wavers, never stop believing in yourself. Waves aren’t as easy as people think and it’s gonna get hard. But again like I said believe in you and find your lane in this game and go!
